Our Mission:
Orchestra Atlanta is a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting music education and professional performances of a wide variety of jazz music. These two functions are
fulfilled by:
- Conducting summer music camps in collaboration with Fulton
County for metro-Atlanta music students.
- Presenting local, regional and nationally recognized artists in performances of small and large jazz events which appeal to a broad cross-section of the metropolitan Atlanta community.
Orchestra Atlanta is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit arts organization
registered in the State of Georgia. It was founded in 1984
as The Sandy Springs Chamber Orchestra and quickly established
itself as a cultural treasure in the north metro Atlanta community.
In the mid-1990s the name was changed to Orchestra Atlanta.
It continues to serve audiences, musicians and students throughout
the metro Atlanta community.
Orchestra Atlanta's Board of Directors is a blend of professional
men and women who represent a cross section of large and small
businesses in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Active and influential
community volunteers, the Board of Directors meets monthly
to determine policy, programming, marketing, and resource
development while encouraging awareness and interest in Orchestra
Atlanta's programs.
